Common questions

Where does the time come from?

EmpireClock uses your device’s date, time, and time zone, and updates the display every second. It displays the date and time in English. If the time is incorrect, check Date & Time in your device’s settings.

Why does the location show a different city?

The location is estimated from your public IP address using ipapi.co. A VPN, mobile network, or internet provider may make it appear elsewhere. This estimate does not change the clock’s time zone.

How do I copy the date and time?

Click or tap the clock screen, then paste into another app. EmpireClock copies the full date and time shown on screen, including the time zone.

Why is the location missing or still loading?

The location lookup needs an internet connection. Check your connection and try opening EmpireClock again. Network restrictions or a temporary service issue can prevent the lookup from completing. The clock itself uses your device’s time.

Why does the pointer disappear on Mac?

EmpireClock hides the pointer after a short period of inactivity over its window. Move the mouse to bring it back.
